Wizard of Odd: Creepy Wedding Cake Toppers

I have seen some weird, gross and unusual cakes.  In my search to find ordinary cakes I came across cake toppers that I never would have imagined anyone would actually use.  Photos like these make me wonder what the bride and groom were dressed like.

Someone has fond memories of scary movies.

The spawn of Frankenstein and a zombie?

Okay, this one really creeps me out.

Awwww, that's so sweet.  They got drunk and went to have matching mohawks done before the big day.

Kind of  a creepy way of saying I will love you forever.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say they got married at midnight on Halloween.

So he is your Spiderman and you want him to kill you?

So marriage really does suck the life out of you?

This is my pick for the creepiest topper of all.  No joke.  I loathe clowns!  Have you ever seen or read Stephen King's 'IT'

This concludes yet another journey with the Wizard through the Land of Odd.  I wonder what area of interest I will take you next time?

Fantastic iPhone Photo App

Instagram is a really great app for the iPhone and iPod Touch.  Also, it's free!  I find myself looking for out of the ordinary shots to take, edit and post.  You can view other people's pictures and share yours via Facebook, Flickr and Twitter.  What's best about the sharing is that there is no annoying news feed.  Now let's move on to the before and after pictures I have taken.  If you download the app you can find me by searching @chattiepattie.

 "Practice makes perfect."

"Someone is not a happy camper"

"Guitar Art painted guitars sold at Teskey's."

"Going into the lawn care business?"

All in all, I give this app two thumbs up.  I would give it more, but two is all I have.  Tune in for my next Instagram blog where I take you through 'The Journey of the Bedazzled Inner Ear'.  Yeah, you read that right.  Let your imagination wander!

Working Angry Birds Cake!

I have written blogs about cake mishaps and I enjoy those, but I love decorating cakes and the art of doing so.  Here is a You Tube video of a working, edible Angry Birds birthday cake.  I am very impressed by it.  So creatively ingenious!

BRAVO!

The Wizard of Odd: Shotgun Weddings

.........Talk about theme weddings! Yowza!!.........

Looking for great cake mishaps I came across some crazy cake toppers.  One cake topper led me to look into the ceremony behind it and I found a plethora of some serious redneck lovin' goin' on!

That kid looks super thrilled.

Interesting choice of photo editing.

The cake is incognito.

The reception dinner was the freshest there has ever been.

No shoes, no shirt, no........just no.

And that concludes another journey with the Wizard through the Land of Odd.  I think I just threw up a little.

The Biggest Thing To Happen.....

.........to such a small town.

There is a major factor in the entertainment industry that many people forget about.  No matter how talented entertainers are, without this there would be no Hollywood studios, no radio, no Broadway and no professional sports.  It is the fans of any kind of entertainment.

Yes, fans is usually a term for attendees of sports games, but it goes for any kind of entertainment.  You have your big fans who camp outside all night to try and get into a theatre for the first night of a movie release.  They wait in line with their smart phones so that if they don't make it to the box office before a game or a concert is sold out they can purchase over the internet.  They work hard and most make on the lower scale of average income.  Fans save and spend their hard earned money so that they can go to the movies, purchase songs, see a Broadway show, watch their favorite sport in person, pay for  cable and televisions so they can watch their favorite shows.  These people, who thankfully are fans of something, are what pays the salary for the entertainers and everyone involved.  Yes, advertisers pay money which contributes largely to most venues.  But if there weren't fans, advertisers would not have anyone to pay attention to their ads. Fans are what keeps a person, group, team, studio and the like afloat.  A person cannot be successful in entertainment without fans.  People who stick with them from beginning to end and all the fans who join in between.

I saw proof of the importance and power of fans this past year.  I was amazed at how much support for one person's talent came out of so many people.  It still does.  The fans are still here. Talking, messaging, tweeting, facebooking, blogging and voting in online polls.  They do this because they are excited for an album release from a guy they find posessing one if not all of the following qualities:  wonderfully talented, handsome, kind, hard working, thankful, humble, and very appreciative to and for his fans.  I believe he is all of these things.  Which is why his loyal and adoring fans from all over the globe worked on forming watch parties, facebook and twitter campaigns and getting in every vote they possibly could to further him in the pursuit of his dream.  A dream that seems simple, but truly is very hard to achieve.  The dream to make a living at doing what you love and being able to do it as long as you live.  Because nothing else would make you completely happy with life.  Casey James' fans have helped him, and are still helping him, to achieve that.

So let's go back and take a look at some videos from the day that the biggest thing happened to a small town.  The day that Casey James, an American Idol finalist, came home to Millsap.

Special thanks to filmmaker Tony Proctor of Slow Tilt Films in Fort Worth who so very nicely obliged when I asked him to come video and edit Casey's performance in Millsap.

The above and below videos were recorded and edited by Tony Proctor.

And now thank you to all of the fans for the YouTube video posts.  Without you all, this would have never been possible.

Fan videos from his D/FW appearances!!

AND NOW VIDEOS OF THE FANS LOVE AND SUPPORT.  YOU GUYS ARE FANTASTIC!  I LOVE THESE FAN VIDEOS!!!!

Like this one, so cute!

And now a message from Casey I'm sure all you fans have seen!

Casey fans, old and new, here's to a successful career for a talented young man from Cool, Texas.  Thank you again for all of your love and support and helping Casey James become the biggest thing to ever come out of our little town.

God bless,

Wizard of Odd: A Love Story In Cake

................................What better way to say 'I Love You' or 'I Didn't Finish Elementary' or 'I Really Don't Like You'.........

Today is round 2 of our journey through the land of the Wizard of Odd.  You will see pictures of pretty cakes, not so nice cakes and you will even read a love story complete with pictures!

Anyone who can bake a cake could easily make some of these cakes. You don't even need instructions on how to decorate it. The pictures are explanation enough. Yet, a few of these cakes may require explanation to the person it is given to about why the maker is so rude, vain and completely clueless.

First, a few mistakes with a little dash of creepy and then on to our love story.

This cake obviously took talent and smarts.  Hannibal Lecter was smart, too.  Whoever this was baked for.....run away.

Two words.......spell check.

I've seen a horsefly.  I've seen a house fly.  But I have never seen poo fly...with wings.

'LOVE & CAKE'

Once upon a time, there was a girl who loved to bake.

Her favorite thing to bake was Valentine's Day treats.

She baked cakes, cupcakes, cookies and dipped snacks in candy.

For Valentine's Day she made a cake for her love.

Her love decided to make her a cake in return.  Upon receiving his gift the girl was very upset to discover how vain he truly was.

So she baked him a cake hoping to bring him back to reality.

He was angry thinking she may have had very many loves before him to use for comparison.  So he hid a message for her to find.

*CAN YOU FIND THE MESSAGE HIDDEN BELOW?*

The girl found his message and sent him a bigger one in return.

Sensing that their realtionship could be in danger, he sent her an edible question.  In return she answered and sent it back.

At that moment he chose to bake the girl another treat decorated with the words she said he never spoke enough.

When the girl saw this she smiled out of satisfaction not forgiveness.  She didn't feel that he truly meant it, nor that he had learned a lesson about his vanity.  She could never be with someone more in love with himself than with her.  The girl sent him her final message........

.........and he sent her his.

Thus concludes our second journey through the the blog of the Wizard of Odd.  I hope you all enjoyed my love story.  I sincerely hope your Valentine's Day is the complete opposite!
