My daughter, who everyone refers to as Miss Memma, is possibly the most amusing person I have ever met. From the time she could talk and now to her present age of 7, the words in her head have always fallen out of her mouth. Most of the time her flow of words is like a fast current that seems to speed up with her dramatic facial expressions paired with the arm and hand gestures. Miss Memma is like this no matter what mood she is in and the day before a routine surgery was no exception.
This past week she and I stopped by the mall. We had just finished her pre-op appointment and were on a mission to find a surgery companion at the Disney Store. After finishing a meal from Panda Express she read her fortune cookie which was, "To have success, you must first look to yourself." She looks at me, shrugs her shoulders, raises her eyebrows and nonchalantly states, "That's already happened today." Curiously I replied,"Really? How's that?" With the help of her arms and hands, and a few tilts of the head, Miss Memma responds,"Well, this morning I looked in the mirror at myself, then we come here and I saw my name in that cake. That's success right there."
Miss Memma has the most beautiful rose colored glasses and I am grateful for the times she let's me look through them. God, how I love my funny girl.
